Rättvik is an urban area, also a central town in Rättvik municipality in Dalarna County next to Siljan. Rättvik
By the lake is Långbryggan, a 628 meter long bridge out to a small artificial island in the lake. Långbryggan was built in 1895 as a mooring for the steamer "S / S Rättvik", which went into service on Siljan 1895 to the 1950s.
On Hedsåsberget is the 28 meter high wooden tower Vidablick with a view of Lake Siljan. Vidablick was inaugurated in 1898 and is open during the summer.

IFK Rättvik will play from the 2021/22 season in the highest series in Swedish bandy for men, the Elite Series. Rättvik's trotting track is home to Olle Goop and Leif Witasp, among others. The most famous horse from there is Ego Boy who is buried in the winner's circle on the track. Rättviks GK has a golf course in the resort. The most deserving team from the area is the baseball team Rättvik Butchers. The team was formed in 1975, has won the Swedish Cup once and become Swedish champions in 2001 and 2002.

In 1979, the first skateboard camp (eurocana) in world history was arranged in Rättvik. One of the first Mc Twist was landed in Rättvik in 1984 by Mike Mcgill
